This eye icon is a read-only indicator indeed and reveals a permission problem. Look in CO4 the Library tool tab, Info (bottom) for permissions. This has been discussed here in the past, you might want to do a search. CO4 is rather nit-picking regarding permission settings. Also use the latest release of CO4 to benefit from any improvement on that side.

I have same experience with CO5 and CO4.8.1 - as I am using Linksys NSS6xxx NAS/RAID5 disk array. But if I look for permission setting in Library -> Info, there is shown All. All other programs work well - definitely not real permission problem.

Could you direct me to some solution?

Look at the tips in: viewtopic.php?p=30922#p30922 and the following post from Duncan22.

Thanks for link, it should be somehow useful.

NAS user has correct permisssion already, but I also tried to change appropriate Win XP user permission on share to Full Control (was Special Permission) - but it still does not work. I wiil try to restart NAS and workstation as well.

I hope, info in linked thread does not mean I must remove and copy all files again to get it working..

    Regards,
    Tomas

Emphasize on 'share permission' next to 'file permission' on NAS for the 'NAS user'. Remove and copy was not in the linked post so do not scare yourself unnecessarily. Keep faith.

    I mentioned this paragraph:

Hi guys, thanks for the tips, but didn't helped. I was on the verge of giving up, when i took a peek on the CIFS share options of the shared folder and found an option named "Automatically set permissions on new files and folders", which used to set any files/folders rights that are saved there to "Ready/Write". And it worked! Of course i've had to delete and recreate the files again. Thanks Duncan22 for the light, Ulf for the patience, and everyone else for collaborating. Now i have to figure out how to get the readynas to work with offline files on my vista laptop, but that's another forum 😄
    Thanks a lot!

I am sure my NAS user has read/write permission, because I can copy/create/modify/delete any file on mapped drive as I wish - in any program like ACDSee, Corel Paint Shop Pro - but not CO..

Hmmm, I should also try to use files somewhere on "normal" share and not just in my home directory.. will see..

O.K., just for sure, I am going to check NAS and it's user again...
