color management....again
Here is my setup
Camera product: canon eos 5d
camera (profile) Canon Eos-5d etc-v200 losat
Output desitnaiton: srgb
Web destination : srgb
Proof destination : mpix e surface
monitor profile : updated using gretagmacbeth profile
Here is my question: I am wanting to edit my photos using c1 send to mpix and get back exactly what I see on my monitor. I am getting confused with the output destination and proof destination. When I change the output destination (working space) I do see instant changes, when I change the proof destination I see no changes. If I wanted to edit in C1 would I be correct in changing the output desitnation to mpix E-surface and the proof destination to mpix e-surface, edit the photo and then (under process) click convert to destination? Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

mac43rn,
Proof Destination should be sRGB too if this is your desired color space.
E-surface sounds like Kodak paper. If so, should ge better results with Adobe RGB ( 1998),
Fuji paper = sRGB but of course testing and Lab recommendations are best to decide.
If you will always color correct for Lab, then change the Destination ( Working Space ) setting in Color Mangement to the Mpix profile.
What is set here, is color space displayed in Thumbnails and Previews.
Most accurate color display is at Focus tab at the Focus View display.
At the Process tab, set to Web or Proof as destination.
Windows version does not truly soft proof, therefore you will make adjustments with Lab profile set for Destination, but process images with desired sRGB, or Adobe RGB ( 1998) .
It is doubtful that the Lab want the lab profile embedded in image, but you can clarify with them.
