Various capture one le, capturre one 4 and vista problems

Hi, Just put this to support but wondered if anybidy here has any suggestions/comments/solutions etc.

I have windows xp (no service packs intalled) on my pc. Capture one le runs fine

I have vista on my new laptop.

Tried capture one 4 on this. Is no good as cant disable jpeg browsing and define develops directory sssociated to image directory.

so back to LE 3.7.6 which Installed in vista (using win xp compatability mode) but I get

C:\\Windows\\system32\\Preferences\\Preferences.$$$
error - path is invalid

Can get it to work by ignoring but it wont save any settings!

So I tried it on the laptop in a virtual machine running windows xp sp2. Same problem again though?

I assume then it only works on windows xp non-sp2
