C1-5 crashing on import from storage device.

I have been attempting to import files directly into C1-5 from a Nexto Extreme ND2700 storage device. The thumbnails initially are displayed in the C1 import dialogue box, but then the program quits. This has happened repeatedly. As one might expect, Lightroom 3 has no such problem, but I do not want to purchase that program just for copying files from the device to my hard drive. (I know that I can just drag all of the folders from the Nexto to my HD, but LR actually can open all of the folders and copy the files in one fell swoop.) Also, Apple's Image Capture cannot see the Nexto device at all, so I suspect that it is designed to work with cameras/memory cards and scanners only.

Is there something about C1 that keeps it from playing nicely with such mass storage devices?

P.S. Expressions Media completely botches the import, although it does not crash.

  Rob,
  Create a support case and get us specifics on the hardware. We'll look into a solution but if nothing else we can determine the cause of the error and try to adjust for it in a future release.
