Metadata Odd Behaviour

Dear List.

I'm having problems writing / updating metadata to JPG files in Bridge.
These are D2x NEF files originally and processed to high res jpegs using
Capture One 4.8.2. I cannot apply/change and metadata in Bridge and it comes
back with the error message: "there was an error writing metadata to
xyz.jpg" However, open same file in PS CS4 and no problem. It's a real
pain.

Also seems to affect D700 RAW files too. Also strips out all metadata when processing JPG files too ( I don't usually process jpegs in CO but I thought I would give it a try due to an error I made on a shoot)

So far I have tried:

1/ Purging Bridge Cache and restarting app
2/ Restarting PC

It seems to be a CO4 related problem. Images processed earlier in CO3 are
fine.
