C1 randomly stops recognizing my camera

I am fairly new to C1Pro, and am incredibly frusterated so far. The program itself is great, except that it keeps disconnecting from my camera. I am using a Canon 1Ds Mark 2 tethered to my brand new G5 using Tiger. I turn on C1Pro, turn on the camera, wait for the noise confirming the connection, and then try to start shooting. In the beginning I can usually shoot a few frames, but as I go on I need to turn off the camera and restart the software before it will show me any more previews as I try to shoot. The more I do this and the more I shoot the more difficult it gets, until eventually it will make the noise confirming it is connected but will not shoot any frames. The camera will still appear to take a photo, but C1Pro will not recognize that anything has happened. The computer still recognizes that the camera is connected through the firewire port, but C1Pro will not do anything camera related. Every so often the computer also freezes, and only when using C1Pro. Is that normal, or should I be concerned about that as well?

Before anything else, read the release note which is in the Capture One Pro 3.7 directory, it has a section handling tethered operation with Canon cameras. 0
