5D tethered in Vista not working?

Hey there,

As I have upgraded to Vista "Business Edition" today, I just noticed that I can no longer shoot tethered with my Canon 5D camera. The software (C1 Pro)tells me the camera is "ready for capture", but once I press on the release cable, nothing happens. The image doesn't get written to the compact flash card either (the little LED doesn't flash). I tried doing a search on the PC for *.cr2 files, but it seems like they aren't going anywhere.

Anybody have any ideas? I have the latest TWAIN-5 driver for the camera.... Canon says the 5D driver should support PTP transfers under Vista. When I turn the camera on in PC-more photoshop gets launched.... while in PTP, I get the option of opening the contents of the compact flash card for viewing.

Thanks for any clues! Hope I'm not gonna be stuck without being tethered ☹️

Vadim,

Windows Vista OS is Not Supported in current version 3.7.6
It will be supported in Upgrade 4.0 due later this year.

For now, with Vista, you will have to operate the Canon program in the background to establish tether.

Have the write to location set as a Capture One Session folder, and
at the Preferences > Miscellaneous tab > check the Enable Hotfolder

Writing to HD and CF card is a function of the Canon program only.

Luckily, I installed Vista on a brand new drive, and simply swapped back my XP drive back in.... tethered is back.... I guess I'll wait until the next version comes out.

Will the LE version support the 5D or only the Pro version as read somewhere LE is slated for around Q2, and therefore before C1 Pro?
