Expression media hangs/ freezes

has anyone had this issue, I am browsing my catalog and suddenly the program is unresponsive, sometimes for a few seconds and sometimes longer, I'm not showing that it is saving or that the activity wheel on the lower right is there, I just get a spinning beach ball. It is making this unusable,
I'm running a Mac pro 2x3ghz dual core with 10 gigs of ram, and OS 10.6.4.
this has just started after having used this program for many years.
I'm really excited that Phase One has taken it over as Microsoft just kind of dropped the ball.

  We seem to be having a similar issue, although ours happened after we migrated all of our media from one set of RAID striped drives to another single drive. Did you ever get a resolution to this issue?
