Can I use a CF card in my 5D when shooting wirelessly?
Hey all,
I have recently been experimenting with using Capture One with my 5D. I am shooting wirelessly to a server and viewing the images in Bridge. I'm dissapointed to find that when shooting the camera is no longer writing to the CF card in the camera. This is convenient for me as I shoot rapidly (on model fashion) and it's more convenient for me to look quickly at the back of my camera's LCD then it is for me to look at my laptop.
Is there any way to over-ride this and enable my camera to write to my card at the same time? I'm very new to the whole capture one thing so please bear with me!
Thanks so much for any thoughts.
Cheers,
Vance

Vance,
How are the topics of shooting wirelessly and Capture One 'connected'?0 -
Paul,
I didn't assume those issues were connected I was just trying to provide all pertinent background information that may be of interest. Do you know if there is a way I can get my camera to write to my card when I am using Capture One?
Thanks,

In general if you shoot tethered the memory card in the camera is not used. Instead, the computer's hard disk is the camera's storage. I am not aware of a way to let the camera save the image to the CF card too while using tethered operation with Capture One Pro.
However, you could use EOS Utility in combination with Capture One. EOS Utility allows you to save the images on the memory card as well during remote shooting (=tethered operation). It is a preference setting. EOS Utility allows you full control over camera settings as a bonus. But working with Capture One only is a more streamline and slick solution I think.0
