Bulb and Timer capture - No time box
Hello,
I started evaluating Capture One Pro for astrophotography purposes and whereas I was really impressed with all the features and great GUI design, I could not set the exposure time when my camera shutter is in BULB.
Generally for photos of deep sky objects we need much longer than 30s. I currently use CamRanger, but it is a bit unreliable as the connection drops very frequently. I'm happy to have a wired solution.
So, is there a way to set the BULB time when the camera is in BULB mode?
I have a Nikon D5300.
Regards
Aurelio

Aurelio,
This is not currently supported by the Nikon SDK, and as such isn't available as an option in Capture One.
My strong suggestion is to use a cable release with a built in timer/intervalometer - These can be found as inexpensively as $20 on amazon & ebay and work incredibly well. They can be used for time lapse photography, but in your case it would be a simple matter of programming the timer to hold the shutter open (in bulb mode) for as many seconds as necessary. Very easy and cheap.0
