Capture One 4.8.1 will not quit !! Or even FORCE QUIT !!
Hello List
I am now using Capture One 4.8.1 with my Nikon D3x, this is via USB cable.
When I want to finish work its impossible to quit the software, I turn the camera off and then try and quit Capture One, it won't quit, I won't even force quit... !!!
I then can't shut down my Mac, its a real pain as I have to force the Mac to shut down by holding the power button.
I have asked my dealer who is as always very helpful but he hasn't been able to answer this issue yet.
I need a work-around for now as the quality of images when shooting with the Nikon D3x and Capture One is really good.
Thanks Andy

To chase nasty applications there are more powerful tools in OS X than force quit, like Activity Monitor (Applications, Utilities). Open AM, in the process list look for Capture One, select the item and click Quit Process button (top left).
Hope this helps.
Note: maybe Capture One is dependent on another process to finish. You might find this process in the list, as a colored item, meaning Not Responding. Quit this process first.0 -
Great advice Paul. In general things run so smoothly in OSX - even when an application freezes - that one forgets these worthwhile tricks. I hope that the underlying issue is rapidly resolved. [quote="Paul_E" wrote:

Hi Paul and Ralph
Thanks for your replies, I will certainly try this more intelligent route, its exactly what I wanted for now.. a decent work-around which saves me pulling the plug on my Mac !!
I hope that the underlining issue can be fixed with Capture One and plugging in a Nikon but I will try your suggestion tomorrow when I'm back shooting in the studio.
Thanks again for the prompt help

I just logged on to see if anyone else is having this problem. This happens to me even when my D200 isn't connected.
I'm glad there is a work around, thanks Paul.
Hopefully Phase will fix this bug, it is annoying.
