What cameraprofile to use
Hello,
I'm using CO pro 3.7.4 for the rawconversions of my Nikon D2Hs camera.
I'm working on a weekly calibrated monitor, and shoot my pictures in adobe rgb.
My colorsettings in CO are:
workingspace: Adobe RGB
Destinationprofile: Adobe RGB
My workingspace in Photoshop CS2 is also set to Adobe RGB.
However, i get a different result when i use Nikon D2Hs generic as my cameraprofile instead of Adobe RGB (1998). In CO i see my thumbnails and preview change, and also in photoshop the pictures are not the same.
Wich cameraprofile can i use best, the Nikon D2Hs generic or the adobe RGB?
Thanks for your help,
André

Andre,
Your settings are all correct.
Do Not set an output profile as a Camera Profile.
The Camera Profile is automatically set by the meta data, and Color Management setting.
The D2Hs only has the Generic profile provided.
If you want to alter this profile more to your liking, use the Color Editor to adjust and save the file.
Then in Color Management you will set this as the new Default profile to use.
Remember, RAW files don't really have a color space until set and processed.
An in-camera setting for color space only applies to in-camera processed files, i.e. JPEG captures
And if comparing color between programs, be sure they are using the exact same color profile.
Photoshop default soft proof profile is CMYK so you can see a huge difference between this and Capture One display.
