Typically a case of incompatible technologies here I am afraid.

As you know is tethering the 1Ds mkII through the firewire interface driven by a Canon device driver that is only available for 32-bit Windows versions. That rules out any solution (either Canon, Capture One) to tether. A 32-bits virtual machine is also not an option because firewire is not virtualized.

The only option I can think of is to install a parallel version of 32-bit Windows on a separate partition or disk in your computer for tethering purposes. Please be aware that Canon's device driver for the 1Ds mkII is not Win7 (and probably not Vista) compatible so WinXP is your best option in this scenario.

Thank You for your response. Are all eos cameras uncompatable with 64 bit? Will the 5d mark ll work?
    Thx again!!

Newer cameras - like the 5D mkII - will tether on 64-bits Windows. I have the 5D mkII tethering with CO 5 Pro on Win7 x64. Newer models do not need a separate Canon device driver to be installed.
