Working with session templates
Question folks. Hope someone can help. I've been trying to figure out how to work with session templates and I'm not having much luck. The steps I took were:
1. New session > Template > Blank
2. I created a blank template wih session name "test."
3. I then added a few folders to the session and made one a capture folder and then a process folder
4. I then went to New session > Template > Copy in an attempt to use the "test" session as the template for a new session entitled "secondtest"
What I'm not seeing is CaptureOne creating a new folder hierarchy for the new session. The .session file is created but not in a new folder - it stays in the parent folder. Does this actual folder hierarchy not become visible until after assets are created? I am able to see the same capture and session names but they are red and italicized. I'm pretty confused about creating templates and what I'm supposed to see. Can anyone help? Thanks!!!

I tried dragging an image file into one of the folders and then suddenly the folder became visible in the apple finder window.
So it seems that the folders are "virtual" until you actually either import images or in shooting tethered an asset ends up in that folder.
Does that seem correct?
What's amazing to me is that the Capture One documentation doesn't mention this "ghost" folder process AT ALL.
I'm generally disappointed with how this software is documented.0 -
After figuring out the virtual/ghost folder creation, this footnote in the "New Session" dialogue box, under "Template: Copy" makes marginal (?) sense:
"This will copy all settings from the current session .... [color=red:1muct3yc]This will break favorites using relative references unless the session files are located in the same folder"[/color:1muct3yc]
Seriously. Who writes this stuff?0
