how do I check focus as images come in. It jumps to new img

Is there a way to change how the previews load. I try to check focus of a given image and I am directed away from it as the next image comes in. I know it's a lame question but I really don't know. This is on Mac w P+ on a Hass. To rephrase I want to control weather the previews load the image that comes in or the image of the thumbnail you have selected.

  No there is not, you will be able to accomplish this when tethering comes to Capture One 4
