Can you access network resources (folders on networked external HDD or shared folders on other computer) from Windows Explorer? That would be my first step. Next - when previous step is successful- try to access from within Capture One.

Due to acknowledged issues with network access to images, you might specify in more detail your setup, like Windows version, perhaps a Linux box or type of ext. network HDD.

There is no problem accessing any part of the network with windows explorer. We are using vista on one pc and xp on the other.

In Capture One 4, on the Library tool tab, there is an Info section below (expand when it is collapsed). Here you can read the permission CO4 experiences on the network folder (like read-only, read and write). Compare this with network folder access on both computers. Might give you a clue. CO4 needs read and write permissions on a folder (local or remote).

First of all, Thank you very much for your help Paul.
When I choose files in the folder menu my permissions always say 'all'. But no folder in the network has an icon, like it doesnt recognize the folders. when i press the dropdown arrow on a folder that should have many folders inside, it drops down one blank spot. We still have C1 3.7.8 on the pc and it has no problem with accessing the network. Could other versions of C1 be creating a problem?

    Kathi,
I looks most definitely a CO 4.8.x problem; you could try the latest update (4.8.1) if you have not already done that. I suggest you open a support case with Phase One and refer to this thread. Good luck and you're welcome with your questions; that's what this forum is about.
