I got this problems some time ago with my old pc. It was an old one with Windows XP and only 1 GB storage. I just upgraded to a new PC with 4GB storage and Windows 7, 16 bit version. I downloaded a fresh version from C1 yesterday. But this problem still occurs. What can I do now?
regards
Wolfgang

Maybe it was not the hardware of your old computer that caused the crash. It can be a corrupt image file, settings file, preview file or a corrupt session file or user configuration file or your .NET Framework configuration (order from most to less likely cause).
I suggest you move the image folder CO5 is opening from start to a different location, including the session (*.col50) file.0 -
Hello Paul,
thank you for the answer. I had these files on an external disk. When I got this problems first, I moved the files from this disk to the drive from the new computer. I also get the problems with different folders, not only with one folder.
With the download from the latest C1 version I hope that the settings in the programm are "fresh", but maybe I imported the problems with the data folders. Do you suggest to delete the files that C1 built in the data folders? What is a corrupt session file?
kind regards

The session file has a *.col50 extension. When you run CO5 (regular, not Pro or DB) you will have only the default session file, Capture One.col50. You can find it in your Pictures\Capture One Library folder.
Moving images around to/from external disk is a proven method of crashing CO5. Best to work on your internal disk(s) only, backup to external.0
