how to change default base characteristics ...

Shooting with the D3 & by default the icc profile & film curve are set as the generic v2 - which I dont care for & it is a pain to have to change it all the time.
There MUST be a way to set this to my own preference and have it stay that way on start up ( like if I had created my own icc & curves)
-please advise

  The defaults for that tool cannot be edited, however you can create a Style or Preset if you wish.
