Focus Tool Behaviour on Thumbnails
First, can I say that I am delighted that CO5.1 has finally settled down to become an almost hassle-free tool after all the heartache of CO4.x! Crashes are much rarer (only on startup and shutdown). I can't say that I have experienced any of the performance problems mentioned elsewhere on the forum...
One thing that is still annoying me, however, is the way the focus tool behaves with thumbnails. When shooting, I am typically using the focus tool to check for sharp focus over the entire image area, and this involves zooming in on certain areas and then comparing sharpness in these areas in different (thumbnail) exposures. What makes this difficult is the fact that when the focus tool is used to select a different thumbnail, it is sensitive to where in the thumbnail I click, and so moves the zoomed area. To make quick comparisons between exposures, I therefore have to switch back to the selection tool. But then to quickly look at a different area, I have to switch back to the focus tool (I know I can move around in the focus tool window, but this is slow and tedious if I am moving between extreme edges of the image...).
Am I alone in finding this a problem? Isn't it enough that the focus tool is location-sensitive on the preview without it doing the same on the thumbnails? Would making the focus tool act merely a selection tool on the thumbnails pose a problem to many users?
Any feedback welcome.
