moving images from catalog to sessions

Coming from LR I naturally went down the catalog route when I switched to Fuji. (I am  retaining all my Canon images in LR).

I can now see the advantages of Sessions.

Is it possible to delete my existing catalog and bring the images back into Sessions from the Pictures folder on my iMac's hard drive.

Apologies if this question is very basic

  Any post processing you have done will be lost this way.

   

  I've transitioned away from Catalogs. See the thread https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360011951198-Strategies-for-migrating-away-from-Catalogs 

  You can then create sessions in the folders as desired.
