Speed Edit request/suggestion

Whilst Speed Edit is a great feature, why do we have to press the mouse button to make it work?

It would be a lot better to place the cursor over the image, and ONLY press the Speed Edit key. Then just move the mouse.

I actually use a trackball that is awesome for making adjustment.
