Unsupported File Format for Mac

After updating to the latest MacOS Monterey Version 12.5.1, when I open Capture One to the last catalog I was working on, all the files now indicate "This image is an unsupported file format". All my images were originally imported as .CR2 (for Canon Raw). Please advise how I should correct this problem.
