Me too, I am so tired of those betterments-for-the-worse. It is really time consuming and annoying. And it was fine before. Now I have to manually select unconstrained on 150+ images I am editing r...

Heads up, with the new update you change this setting (global crop setting or per image) in the preferences. Set to global, one more time switch to unconstrained, and your set for good.
