I'm having the same frustrations - the subject and background selections work great.  However if there was a way to regenerate the subject and background after a batch apply or during a batch apply...

3. Global copy and apply is only applying to a single highlighted image at a time

that was the answer....I have that button removed on my ui.  I must have hot keyed it off.  Thanks for your help
