Yes, seems that the problem is only with Canon 300D as also 40D works fine.

Since this is probably a low priority issue I did some googling and found a nice tool called exiftool...exiftool.exe -TagsFromFile 105CANON_CRW/%f.CRW -DateTimeOriginal -ThumbnailImage= -ext JPG 10...

Yes let's hope so. In the meantime I just bought 40D and with that one the exif is updated correctly.

Same problem here. And this is quite a big issue because I like to use calendar view in my viewing program.
