This is now resolved for the EOS1D Mark IV in version 5.1.2 of Capture One Pro for Windows.

It could be any of the above. It might also be that Windows 7 has a different file locking and concurrency model to Windows XP so the bug never arises (that's what I'm hoping, anyway).
