If I move the source files, what happens?

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are doing great !

I am here for the first time. Hoping that will receive the response from this community.

Right now I import all my raw files from my camera to my laptop [https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/faqs/pc-life-faqs/what-is-vpro/], but if I ever run out of space and need to move those files to an external hard drive, what happens to my Capture One catalogue? From my understanding, the Capture One catalogue only stores the "edits", not the files themselves, right?

Has anyone any ideas about it?

Capture One will not find the files in the expected location and .

At this point, you can go to the Folders section in the navigator tool and use "locate"

A better way would be to use C1 to move the images to the external drive for you. You can do this by adding the new drive to your catalogue and then just drag and drop the folders from the old location to the new location.
