Why can't Capture One start/load in background?
I need to quit and restart Capture One a lot since I am loading new ICC profiles. The problem is there is no apparent way to start Capture One and have the catalogs load in the background. Or is there a way? Instead Capture One always takes over the screen and I have to wait until all catalogues have been loaded. In the meantime all other programs are inaccessible. This takes annoyingly long, nearly half a minute, even on my full specked M1 Max MacBook Pro. Anyone has a solution for this issue?

Thank you for your knowledgeable and thorough explanation. I still can't understand why this behavior in C1 can't be disabled if the user wants it to load in the background. I have no need or wish to interact with the C1 while it's starting up. Both Lightroom and DxO Photolab start perfectly fine in the background.

Why are you loading numerous ICC profiles? Are you proofing? I ask because perhaps there is another way to address the issue.

Which I happen to think is BS. It looks like one of the many "have fun and annoy users with AI" postings that moderators fail to keep out. The text has several telltale signs, and the out of place link is more than an indication.

What I wondered is why so many catalogs are loading. Do you need to open more than one catalog on staring the app?

Ian Wilson I agree. A description of the workflow would be very helpful. I can’t wrap my head around the ‘why’ of the issue without context.
