Default Naming Format Preset
What problem do you see this solving?
Whenever I make a new session, the "Next Capture Naming" returns to the default setting. This establishes the way that the tethered captured image files are named on my drive. I always have to remember to change the naming preset to my preferred one. If I'm during a busy shoot and I miss that, I have to do a lot of renaming afterwards.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Everytime I start a new session.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
There is no workaround, I just have to remember to re-configure the "Next Capture Naming" tab to my preset (which is a really simple one - "3 digit counter - name").

Create a new session and set the Next Capture Naming tool as you want it. Also, create any session folders, default adjustments, etc. Save that as a template.
Going forward, select the template you created and your Next Capture Name tokens, folders, whatever will be ready to go. You can, of course, have as many templates as you wish. If something changes in your workflow, just modify a session setup and save it under the previous template name to update that template for the future.

Thank you! I didn't realize that naming was part of that session template! Now my question is, how do you set the default counter number? I know how to set it, but the default is always "1", I'd prefer for it to be "1000". Same with the above problem, it would be nice if I didn't have to remember to set that before every shoot.

^ this is also linked to discrepancy in counters: sometimes they start from 1 by default, sometimes 0 - go figure.

Lindsay McOien Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to automatically set the start to a number. I've need really thought about it and a quick dig though the internet didn't provide any answers. If I come up with something, I'll post a follow-on reply. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
