Moving from Perpetual to subscrition

I'm thinking of moving from perpetual to subscription, is this an easy process?
Can I just install the subscritption licenced C1 and open my old perpetual catalogues or is it advisable to keep the old perpetual licenced C1 and run it along side a new subscription based catalogue?

  Perpetual or subscription is not determined by the installer, but by the serial number you enter after the program has been installed. Or when the software already is installed you can deactivate your current perpetual license and enter your new subscription license code.
