New lens profiles with perpetual licence?

As I understand it, with a new perpetual licence for 16.3 we will get free service updates, but not new features. But what about new lens and camera profiles? Would we need to buy a new perpetual license every time we wanted to include the profile for our newly bought lens or camera? (Rumour has it the Sony a9III may be out soon, and I'm dithering on when to purchase 16.3 if camera and lens support coming will require a new license to access them.)
