    Thanks for those comments.  As a subscriber I was simply installing 16.3 as the latest version, on the assumption that it is always sensible to have the benefits of an upgrade even if I might not make immediate use of them, because there is no cost or other downside.  But I suppose that if I was working with a perpetual licence I might want to test the benefits before paying for an upgrade.

    Thanks for that advice.  I am sticking to the previous version for the two catalogues on which I am currently working (images from Iceland in August) after which I have the Dolomites in September and Andalucia in October, so plenty to do.

    What he said was that if you are trying it out on the 30-day trial, don't try it on an older existing catalog, in case you decide not to go for it in the end, because if it has upgraded the catalog you can't easily downgrade it again to use with the older version of Capture One. (Though I think that there was no upgrade of the catalogs when I went from 16.2 to 16.3. However, the advice to try it out on a test catalog is sound.)
