All of a sudden, Olympus ORF files get proxy error, cannot be imported, tried everything

All of a sudden, I get this error when importing Olympus files. "Unable to create proxy. The image file may be damaged or otherwise unable to load." I have used every web solution of my MacBook Pro (turning hardware acceleration off, reinstalling, using sessions vs catalogs, etc.), nothing works. Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

  I had once a problem with too long paths, can you check with very plain paths and filenames? Also to exclude accidental special characters, for example zero-width spaces mixed in when copying an intended name for a session from a "rich text" document?

  Also where are the images stored? Does Capture One have full permissions for that location?
