catalog output files from sesions
Hey guys,
I work a lot of year with Capture One with Sessions. So backing up and storing the files inside the output folder is really working great!
So now the next step is to get the best images from let's say 2018. All session folders are in a a big folder.
I really love to hear how you guys search through all those folders? Sometimes viewing the images is better the going to an session, open it and hope to see the best images right?
From what I have seen on the C1 catalog is that you can import an session, but you will lose the structure of the session...
Maybe this would be best after the session is really finished and just import the JPG's somehow?
I am strugeling for a couple of years now

If the subfolders are marked as Favorites, they will be added as Albums in the Catalog's User Collections section after the import. The subfolder hierarchy is indeed lost, however you can recreate the hierarchy by adding Groups as parent "folders" to the albums.0 -
Hi Ben,
Thanks for your reply. I use the standard folder structure (Capture/Output/Selects/Trash).
So if my Output folder will be added from all of my sessions they will get the same name (eg. output) right?
Maybe i am not understanding it completely?0 -

Yes, that is right.
Each session that you import in a catalog becomes an independent Project with the session name, and with the former session folders as Albums inside that Project.
So in each Project you will have an Output Album.
You can try it as importing a session into a catalog does not harm or affect the session in anyway.0 -
Thanks for explainig
Will try
Hope i can import multiple sessions in 1 time without changing a lot in the catalog0 -
You can only import 1 session at a time. 0 -

that's a lot of work doing 300 shoots a year0 -

Catching up with a backlog it is, but in the future, if you get into the habit of importing each session as soon as you have finished it, it really won't take long.

As an alternative, you could also import the contents of the Output folder only, instead of the entire session. 0
