    Hi Lars,

What do you mean by dock ? Do you mean the Mac OS dock ?

Assuming you do mean that it crashes when you click the icon on the MacOS dock...

    (1) Does it open OK if you go to the Applications folder and double click Capture One 20?

    (2) Are you sure that the icon on the dock is pointing to the new app, not the old one? You could make sure by dragging it off the dock and adding it again by dragging it from the Applications folder to the dock.

Thanks very much. Ja, the mac-dock – is it not the English word too?

Ian, the moment I read your idea I thought: that´s it! Should have been my own analysis, but is yours, Mr. Holmes.
In the time the programm was changing very often I did not change this icon every time, so it starts at B3 or 4.

Looks like that was it, but there was another reason too, otherwise the crash had come every time. The second (ore more), I hope, comes only as second. May be there was a situation what came not up, when I tried several times (may be 20) now.

Sad that the staff, which got 20 or 30 crash reports, not find it and tell me.
I´m glad now. The best, lars

BUT – it is not the problem. There was a crash again.

When Capture One crashes during start, make sure to start it without opening a session or catalog. Hold the Option key pressed while starting (sometimes the Shift key, even on Mac).

If that works, the problem is in the session/catalog.

If the program still crashes, consider cleaning or renaming the application support/capture one folder, removing preference file.

Also, removing earlier versions might help.

Other then that, open a support case and they will direct you to provide log files.

Lars, system crash reports are used only for generic tracking of problems not for starting a personal service support case.

If they were to start personal service cases then Microsoft and others would need to employ about 20 million more people! Create a support case.

Hi, thanks, I feel better by seeing so much help! And the support works for me too now, Grant.
My newest theory is: may be my mouse pad works not god, if only be finger click. To move it down hard above left till now allways works (I don´t believe it; but hope dies...).
What is the option key? Shift I think no. I will find out and try something you told me, Paul. Reg. lars

    Option-key = Alt-key

Hi Paul, if I quit C1, then open it with alt-click to the icon in the dock 1. Safari comes back (after cmd-H) 2. C1 starts with the box asking which file I want to open, after a moment open the work space.

The problem I discuss here is: C1 was open, then hide it with cmd-H, and after that to awake it of the dock again with click on the icon in the dock it sometimes crashes and says: reagiert nicht/ don´t react?

If I open the hide C1 from the dock with alt-click to the icon there is no difference to only click the icon; C1 comes of with the file opened before. Says this something to you?

If there is a crash again (after renaming the session file) I will try. Thx, lars

Hi, the C1-support told me to refresh the application preference file. Wait and see. Thanks to all here! lars
