edit multiple images
there is this button "edit selected variants" - wich i understand should allow me to make the changes i do at the same time on all selected images
but it's not doing it .. always only one images is edited.
Is this working for anyone , am i doing something wrong?

Yes, this is a feature of Capture One. If you want to apply the adjustments done on an image to others, you must use the "copy/apply" process (double arrow or adjustments clipboard).

Generally, when that is on, only a few things can be changed at the same time on all images - for example, star rating.
To make adjustments on multiple images, you should
(1) adjust one of them
(2) select all the rest (keeping the one you have adjusted as the primary section - the one with the thick white border round it
(3) use copy and apply adjustments to copy to all the others (making sure that edit all variants is selected).
I believe that the reason it works this way is that if for instance the exposure on multiple variants got adjusted while you moved the slider on one, there would be too much of a computational burden on the system to do it well in real time - after all there could be hundreds of them.
Other things that do happen if you have the edit all option selected include moving multiple images to selects (if it's not toggled on only the first gets moved) and processing output.

It depends, to some extent, on what edit tools you are using.
In general if you are applying a changed value through a Keyboard shortcut - setting a rating or a colour tag for example - the change is immediately applied to all selected images.
If you are using a slider or changing a value for an adjustment in the value box next to a slider only the Primary of the selected variants is changed but when finished with the adjustment one can then copy and paste the new values to the other selected images.
The rationale is related to the processing overhead. If one is playing around with the slider (or equivalent) and therefore potentially slightly modifying the values several times a second (in effect) it is probably not a great idea to make the system try to calculate and recalculate for all selected images (there could be hundreds or thousands selected) for every slight change.
However if one is applying a command that makes an explicit change - set a colour flag or a rating flag for example - then the processing overhead is minimal in terms of writing the change to the edit instructions and also to the screen.
Presets and styles can me handled across all images as well since they also represent fixed value albeit probably adjusting several fields and possibly using several tools. The processing overhead is predictable and relatively simple in compute terms.
Does that description match to what you see on your system?

thank you for the explanation ! That makes total sense now. I knew it was working with some tools directly (like ratings).0 -
Glad that helps.
Please let us know if you see any possible exceptions - as things progress they can change in subtle ways that are not always noticed!
