Camera Address (reestablishing connection)
How does one go about finding the camera address (on both mac & PC) so they can add a camera using the camera tools 'add camera' or 'Network Camera Manager' features?
Or is there a way to force Capture One to check for camera's connected?
On my Mac I can see the camera in the System Info > USB and there is a location # but inserting this number into the "add camera > address" did nothing, not certain if that is even the right way to go about doing this.
I've always turned camera on/off, restarted the program, or computer when having camera connectivity issues, which works, I'm just trying to avoid shutting down and restarting when the camera periodically disconnects and doesn't automatically register again.

Just following up on this to see if anyone has an answer. v20 seems to not reconnect to the camera once it has been disconnected even more so than v12. 0 -
The Network Camera Manager and a camera address refer to Ethernet connectivity, like the Phase One IQ4 150 back offers. For USB connections, Capture One should automatically connect, when operating system recognizes the camera.
From your remarks, I conclude that this is not always the case, in particular after a disconnect.0 -

Ok, that makes sense why I couldn't get the camera manager to recognize a Nikon. When starting up the program it always finds the camera but when the camera is disconnected, the battery is swapped out, or I switch over to Helicon remote then come back to Capture One it often does not recognize the camera again. Changing USB ports some times works but mostly doesn't. Restarting Capture One is all I can do to get the camera back online.0 -
When the camera is shut off and then restarted does the computer automatically recognise it as an external storage device?
If so does it have a memory card installed?
I don't have Nikon, only Canon, and strongly suspect that the code used is specific to the manufacturer rather than generic in that case. So running a check may not be of any guidance for your problem.

It appears as though the memory card in the camera was the issue. I know it's not the best practice to tether with memory cards installed, but this is the first time Ive seen a problem with that while using a Nikon.
Duly noted, thanks for mentioning it!0 -

Was this on Mac or PC or both?
I'm wondering whether, perhaps, a change at the OS level now has the computer diving in to create an external storage device connection, on demise of the C1 to camera link, that resists all attempts to allow another program to take complete command for the camera.
Sorry that's not more specific but I rarely use tethering and when I do it's with Canon, usually.

This is on a Macbook Pro, I've never tethered to my PC, just do my editing there. I don't see the any external storage device coming up for on the computer so not sure if it is a computer side issue or camera side.0
