Help me understand JPEG file size
Need some advice to help understand the rather large JPEG file size that my copy of Capture One Pro 20.02 is suddenly giving me with each RAW conversion. For background, my Pentax KP camera's 24-MB APS-sized sensor gives RAW images of approximately 28-30 MB in size. When I convert to a simple JPEG, I am now getting JPEG file sizes of up to 28 MB in size, which seems to be much larger than before. The Pentax KP menu is not set up to record high resolution images, HDR, etc. I had thought the "Quality" slider (0-100) mainly controlled the JPEG file size, and I prefer my JPEGS to be smaller, around 4-8 MB as they once were. Any advice is appreciated.
My Capture One Pro settings to convert a RAW image to a JPEG are as follows:
Format: JPEG only, 8-bit (no TIFFs)
ICC Profile: Adobe RBG (1999)
Resolution: 300 px/in
Scale: 100
Quality (slider): 25
Metadata: includes copyright, GPS coordinates, camera metadata, and other metadata
Watermark: none
Adjustments: respect crop, no output sharpening

What are the pixel dimensions of your image, either RAW or output (which are the same with scale 100% and if you did not apply crop). 0
