C!20 FUJI - COPY & APPLY ADJUSTMENTS NOT WORKING
It says it in the title really. I'm trying to work it out. Is it because I'm on two screens? Is it because I'm in full screen mode? Etc etc.
What it does mean is that I am currently having to work on each image individually, and it's brought my workflow to a standstill.
Is it a BUG? Why do I have to figure this stuff out - there was a beta release, right?
Anyone else? Can someone help me out with a work around here? At least until a point release.

I think you need to tell us more about your issue if you want help. What exactly are you doing?
Ian0 -
There's not a lot more to tell Ian!
I'm Trying to copy adjustments from one image (shift/cmd/c)
to paste to another image/images (shift/cmd/v).
It's not working.0 -
It's specifically the exposure adjustments, it seems, that won't apply to new images.
Everything is ticked. Everything is where it should be, and everything is how I have been using C1 for the last 10 years.
What's changed?0 -
Ok - so it has to be something I've got set up wrong- everything else copies over Except for the exposure adjustment... 0 -

If you open the Clipboard and find the Exposure tool section is the tick box ticked as you expect?
If not, tick it and try applying the adjustment again.
Now, there is quite a lot to the Adjustment Clipboard functionality and you have some controls over the way that it works.
With the tool open click the ... icon on the top line at the right and have a browse through the options presented.
Hit the "?" icon to go to the new only Help and note that there is a link to a separate page about Auto Select Adjustments.
Somewhere in there may be the information you need to either understand your settings challenge or confirm that the feature is not working as intended.
So I would suggest that is the first approach to take and if your problem is not answered we can move things on from there.

Hi Grant,
Thanks - I've done all of the above. Everything copies over except the exposure adjustment.
Exposure is ticked. Everything else transfers over to multiple images. The only way to apply exposure adjustments to multiple files is locally - i.e from the exposure tool itself, which tells me that it's either not copying (globally via the adjustments filter) or more likely, it's not applying the copied adjustment (via the adjustments clipboard or shift/cmd/V)
It's driving me insane.
The adjustment clipboard is setup perfectly as it always has been. I've been using this long enough to know that the exposure tool is not pasting as intended!0 -
Same thing applies to high dynamic range apparently 0 -
OK, it's pretty much all of the adjustments not copying over.
Weird thing is - some of them are, so it's not even my keyboard at fault...0 -
One more thing:
Using the copy and apply selections in the adjustments toolbar menu at the top of the screen also doesn't work.
In fact Copy and Apply Adjustments in via any method does not work!
I have reset all of my preferences from any previous C1 and still no copy and apply adjustments on ANY image.
This practically makes C1 unusable for me, which is a bummer as I've got a ton of processing to do.
Can anybody help?0 -
Jason,
As I understand it when you copy to the clipboard everything should be copied but the system sets the ticks for what should be applied according to the settings.
If you want to include something not pre-ticked it can be enabled.
I'm on Full Pro and Windows so may not be representative of your situation but things work for me as I expect and AFIAK no different is to be expected between the Pro versions
I have tried it with a sample Fuji file, even copying from a V20 engine variant of a file back to a V11 engined variant and everything worked as far as I could see. That included changing the Film Curve.
I even tried a paste to a Canon CR2 file and that also worked (minus the Film Curve of course!)
A puzzle to be investigated.
I think at this point I would dive briefly into the Log files to see if they tell any tales and then, absent any progress, create a Support Case and get the Support Team involved.
Grant
PS. Having seen your further comment.
Suggest you reboot the machine a couple of times. I'm thinking erroneous temporary files or some sort of problem with memory cache perhaps?0 -
Thanks Grant...
I've re-booted, re-downloaded, reset the preferences, tried a different keyboard(!) - Nothing works.
Contacted support. Nothing.
I'm well and truly stuffed.0 -

Support are often quite busy at this point after a release but they usually get back to people pretty quickly one way or another.
It does seem very strange - and from what you wrote seemed like things were slowly getting worse?
I'm not a Mac person but one fairly common things that seems to be suggested regularly is to bin the "plist" - or something like that. Its personal preferences setting or something similar if I understand things correctly. One of those tricky variables that can cause local havoc on a machine if they become 'damaged' somehow.
Don't take my word for it - I know next to nothing about the inner workings of Macs - but it may be a route for you to investigate.
Did you have 12 installed and working? You could revert to that perhaps until help arrives?
Grant0 -
Thanks - I've emptied the plist - I know how that stuff works.
Yes - I have C112 though deactivated and it can't read the C120 files anyway!
Still no support.... Oh well.0 -

You could, if you need to, re-activate V12 with the V20 key. It will then continue to work.
If you use Catalogues V20 will have converted the catalogues you have opened but should have created a copy of the V12 catalogue. You can rename that and bring it back into use.
In theory you can also use the older processing engine.
Using sessions, as I do, the session db files are updated and a copy of the previous version saved (as for catalogues) but updating the processing engine is optional and in any case the Settings files with the edit adjustment should still be available in their own subfolder.
This may be something that is worth considering for the weekend - assuming the problem is not one that would also affect earleir versions. Which of course it might if it's some sort of obscure system originated thing.

Jason2, a few questions if I may ask:
- have you tried to enable/disable "Edit all selected variants" from the Image menu?
- are you on CO Express 20 Fuji or CO Pro 20 Fuji (I will try to recreate your issue if you tell me)
- are you copying from Fuji files to other Fuji files (obviously, so sorry for asking, just to be sure)0 -
Have the same problem with RAF files but it works with NEF files fishy 0 -

I have just retested with some random RAF files I have picked up via download over recent times.
No problems with the files I am testing.
One difference for Fuji files is, as I understand it, there is a different processing stream (although my results suggest that is not a problem but it might be for certain hardware/software combinations or for some other reason.)
The other thing that occurs to me that is different for Fuji is the Film Style situation. No other raw file is processed with that specific capability.
Not all Fuji cameras are supported for Film Curves. I have no idea if that is a factor here but it's something that I guess we may need to at least consider.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your response.
I'll try to answer your questions:
- Yes - I have enabled/disabled and enabled again the selected variants option.
- = C1 Pro 20 Fuji.
- Yes I only use RAF files.
I'm coming direct in from Photo Mechanic as I always have. I' ve had to downgrade back to v12 for now, but it's not a great solution.0 -

Thanks Grant - I would consider any of your suggestions, but all I keep coming back to is that I haven't changed my workflow, and C112 is still running capably - so it can only be a strange anomaly with the new software. Others are reporting difficulty with RAF files, but it seems very few. But it IS a problem!
I'm now running backwards and using C112 until I can find the problem of at least until PhasdeOne can find it and fix it, but I'm not hopeful at this stage as it seems so specific to my situation.
That said - if it's all working in 12 but not 20, how can that be my setup?0 -
Playing around with Raf files, and I found that there was a style in my loading setup, and that seems to be
the problem. It works just fine with all copy play adjustments.
Hopefully it will work for you.0 -
I wanted to update this thread - it's become apparent that with a macOS update that the clipboard caches have become all screwed up. The strange thing is that it isn't across the board, so to speak. It effects some software and not others and so on.
It really messed with C1, and is still playing up 'sometimes', but has royally screwed Photo Mechanic. I'm sure it will surface somewhere else in time, but for now C120 looks to be working.
It's taken days of figuring out, and maybe if someone else is having the same problem they might try various OSX fixes (resetting the PRAM, terminal commands, and so on).
Thanks to those who helped here.
Edit : It's broken again!
Not sure what to do from here. Is it the Clipboard? Is it the PRAM? Is it C1? Is it Apple.
If anyone knows a way around this problem - I don't know - Clipboard prefs in C1 or Apple, then I'd like to hear about it...0 -
So here I am again!
I've since re-installed OSX. Killed all of the clipboard preferences, changed everything I can, but C120 still won't copy and apply adjustments. Just won't do it.
C112 is fine.
It can't be the operating system. I've done everything I can to eliminate this AND capture one 12 works as it should.
What should I do?0 -

Work with Capture One Support to diagnose what is going on.
Your particular problems seem to be multiply atypical for some reason.

Thanks Grant - I've sent a support email a couple of days ago, but haven't heard back. It's hard to troubleshoot without it! 0 -

Email?
Or Support Case with a reference number?
Or a "Send request" with an eventual response?0 -
The send request is the only link I can find on the new Captureone.com. Getting a support case started used to be a lot easier than this. Either I'm blindly missing it or there isn't an obvious link for starting a support case. 0 -

From Capture One, Help menu, Capture One Support.
This opens the support page in the browser. Top right click on Submit a request.0 -

Thanks for this - I actually did this last Friday but only received an automated response. There used to be a support case portal, no?0 -

Indeed there was but it seems likely this now only applies for people using Phase hardware ans associated software.
I suspect that most people use email or maybe social media and don't see why they should use a managed system and so Phase have presumably separated the two since the Hardware side, usefully for hardware support, asks questions that are not relevant to Capture One used alone.

There did. The good news is the system they are using now does support such a thing but they have not implemented it on their site. Hopefully they will. I made a point of mentioning that I missed having it 😊0
