Curves and low-key portraits
Hi everyone -
David Grover posted a webinar some time ago and the topic included using curves to modify the background of a portrait and take it to full black (smoothing out the texture in the backdrop). I wasn't paying attention then, and sure wish I had now; but I can't find it. anyone know it? Thanks

When I re-watched the video it occurred to me that in some cases it might be easier to apply the background curve to the whole image and then delete from the subject.
Or, more precisely, apply to the whole image where background is likely to appear with the subject intruding on it and then erase from the edges for each subject area.
If you see what I mean.
