searching my catalog
I have ~30,000 images in my catalog (imported from LR). When I go to the Library tab and select "Catalog Collections-All Images" and then enter part of a file name in the search toolbar at the top, right of the page C1 starts a search and it takes forever to complete the search. In LR, the search is instantaneous.
I"m beginning to think that C1's catalog is a much different beast than the LR catalog. The LR catalog seems to act like a database, allowing lightning fast searching while the C1 acts more like it's searching files, one by one, for keywords.
Am I doing something wrong or is C1 just primitive and slow in this regard? Searching the way I'm using it now is pretty much useless. I can start LR, do my search, get my results, and come back to C1 centuries before C1 is done searching.

With my catalog, (20 ooo), the first research After loading takes about one mn. Then, the following researchs are instantaneous. For the first time, you must wait the loading is complete.

I've been using C1P for about 3 years. My Lightroom catalog had about 150k images. This choked C1P on the import. I ended up having to split my LR catalog into several smaller C1P catalogs to keep the catalog under 20k images. C1P does not like large catalogs, period. I'm running a iMacPro with 64GB RAM, 2TB internal SSD and Thunderbolt 2 connected OWC Thunderblade 8TB SSD. The read/write speeds of the internal SSD averages 2,700-2,900 MB/S while the external SSD averages 2,100-2,300 MB/S. Even with this setup, C1P is sluggish once the catalog exceeds about 20k image
