Workflow involving multiple image sources
Some help is greatly appreciated for this workflow situation. The work is on an Apple iMac (Mojave)
A. The objective is to create a final output of images in the order each of many locations was visited using the “best†images that “tell a story†selected from 4 cameras.
B. 4 different cameras with unmatched time of day settings and thus often unmatched date settings were used.
C. Each camera was used to capture images at numerous locations (more than 10) at roughly the same time of day but at the same locations (waterfront, nearby mountains etc.) and with few exceptions the same venues within these same locations.
D. The total image number is 2050. My initial estimate is that about 25% are worthy of some editing and may be useful.
Thus far: I have downloaded the images into 4 different catalogs each holding only the images from one of the 4 cameras and have begun the selection and editing process. I use referenced catalogs so images (raw) from each camera are kept on an external drive within separate folders as per Capture One.
I have not attempted to “merge†or combine selected images from each catalog because it is not clear what is the best path forward to achieve the objective (A, above).
I have tested on a very small-scale different schemes within a catalog and more than a few ways to prepare to export in a desired order. But, merging images from different catalogs seems to present a more thoughtful approach.
I suspect Capture One has the power to do all this, but which tools and in general how each should be used, and in what order that makes sense are concerns. Editing and creating the story is on me.
I suspect I have made things more difficult in achieving item A above by creating four different catalogs. If so, I am prepared to start anew but first I want to see if workable path(s) are available, given the 4 catalogs.
Before I go further, I would greatly appreciate any advice and general guidance and maybe best practice in addressing the logistics involved in achieving item A. I have checked the Phase One web tutorials etc. and see pieces and fragments but I am not sure how best to proceed.

I think the better approach would be to have everything in one catalog and each camera gets it own folder/collection for sorting then each location gets its own collection for your final selects. This way you wouldn't have to be jumping between 4 catalogs throughout the project. Since you've already started sorting you could just import all of your catalogs into one catalog instead of starting over. The alternative is to make your selects in the 4 catalogs and then make a fifth catalog with only all of your selects, that approach seems like it will be messy in the long run though.
Capture One does not have the ability to modify the time of capture data so if the camera clocks are off you will have to manually arrange the images or use third party software to change the times so they are in sync.
Outside of that, I'm not really sure what you're asking.0 -

Thanks!
Im sorry I was not clear but your suggestion seems on target for my issue. I mentioned the date and time aspect only to make sure that that time data were not going to be useful.
The import of all 4 catalogs into a catalog seems to be the best route at this point. Since each catalog is a reference catalog, does that mean the "new catalog " into which the 4 will be imported will retain the adjustments already made and sustain any new adjustments post import?0 -
I would imagine it works like that though I don't use catalogs myself. 0
