Custom Input Device
Hi,
i would like to make a short list of the possibilities to operate capture one via external devices.
First of all, I'm a Windows user, I don't know if all this works on a Mac.
#1. Tangent:
Are the most expensive and in my opinion the best, they are flawlessly built and the software is well tuned.
#2. Midi Controller:
Which, as far as I know, is the cheapest variant, but you have to type a lot yourself. An explanation can be found here.
#3 Loupedeck: https://loupedeck.com/
Is in "Beta" but can be used well. I got it myself today and was very disappointed because many things didn't work out.
However, this was due to the documentation which is still incomplete.
In Capture One you have to select "Loupedeck" in the key assignment, then it works.
And you can also assign/change the buttons.
Actually, it's just a midi controller.
#4 Game Board Keyboard or Gaming Keyboad.
Here you can enter many macros depending on the number of additional keys and use them partly intuitively.
#5 Game Board Keyboard or Gaming Keyboad + Gaming Mouse.
Very interesting variant.
If you set the mouse wheel to 9 up and 0 down, for example, if you have a gaming keyboard or board, and adjust the key assignment accordingly, you can control many tools of Capture One with the mouse wheel.
Let's say we set the exposure to CTRL + ALT + 0 for more to scroll wheel up and CTRL + ALT + 9 for less to scroll wheel down.
Then press a key on the gaming keyboard or board on which the combination (CTRL +ALT) sits and then turn the mouse wheel so we can change the exposure.
Either you have a gaming mouse on which you can change the scroll function to a button or you use the software
"X-Mouse Button Control".
With X-Mouse Button Control you can also set a button to the scroll function and keep the actual scroll function and connect the whole thing with a certain software, like Capture One e.g.
