Is there any claim in the specifications that Capture One is intended to import images from a device that is primarily designed to produce video files?

If not, please explain your reason for surprise.

Well, it can also make RAW photos ... (it is up to one's choice if to make photos or videos - it is for example a bit hard to make under water photos with Canon 5D etc.). If Lightroom is easily able to import these RAW photos, C1 should try too ?

That may depend on how many C1 users want it. If you would like to see support for GoPro you should put in a support case asking for it. Phase One say that they gauge the level of demand for support of cameras from the number of such requests they get.

If you want Capture One to behave like Lightroom, why not just use Lightroom?

Stick with Lightroom for that type of use. As stated above, file a support case. Give Phase One an idea of demand for GoPro support. But as a smaller, boutique company, that has to be weighed carefully as part of their business strategy and deployment of capital; and GoPro support doesn't come to mind. Capture One is a very powerful raw processor that renders results that a lot photographers value as best in class. But it won't, and shouldn't solve for all the possibilities that users can find.

I don't use it, but Lightroom does solve for a different set of needs (GFX support for example); and I won't discourage anyone's decision to use it.

Well, for this steep price, I would expect that C1 is capable of more than Lightroom, not less 😉

It probably does, just not in the areas in which you seem to be interested.

    Hi Roch,

Do you make it a habit to resurrect 3 years old post from an old version of the forum?

Mostly, in this forum, when that happens the next thing we see are spam links added to the new comment.

Is that what you are preparing to do.

If not, what makes you want to use Capture One for processing Go-Pro files?

If you write that up I would suggest you post it in the "Features Requests" section of the forum and thus present it to the product managers for them to consider.

    Best wishes.

Didn't realize that this was your personal forum Roch.

I don't feel any inclination to engage one-to-one with someone who seems to have so much misplaced anger that they can only communicate via insults.

Looking forward to seeing your posts that try to assist others by offering your knowledge and experiences as an aid to helping them decide about their future activities with Capture One.

And yes, you should have known better.
