Using C1 to track usage, use keywords?
Hi,
I want to find a better/easier way then excel to track usage and submissions of images. I was thinking about using keywords to for example track images that has been submitted to Alamy, Getty etc. Of course these keywords should not be exported with the image, so I put them in a seperate keyword library. But, whan I export I can select the keyword libraries to include. But, the keywords in my extra library also shows up in the catalog library, and since there is no 'exclude library' function during export, the only solution I can see is to put the keywords I want exported in another library. This is where the trouble begins, since new keywords by default are added to the Catalog keywords, and I cannot find a way to put them in another library by default / automatically so I will have to copy all new keywords to my 'exportable library' manually.
Maybe a bit complicated to follow, but the two questions that comes out of this is:
1) is there a way to put new keywords to a custom keyword library
or
2) is there a better way to use C1 to track info per image?

Ok, I have played around a bit and to answer my own question 2) so is keywirds not the way to solve this. User collections with albums inside folders does the job very well as far as I can see and unlike what I thought are the image not duplicated. 0 -
I run into walls also with the User collection solution. My first post was maybe a bit unclear since English is not my first language so let me quickly summarize what I want to do.
I have 100000+ images in folders that I have imported into C1, it took some time but now they are there and I just love the processing. I submit images to agencies and micro stock sites and need to keep track on what image is published where under different licenses. I have used keywords for this before, but ran into some issues as described in the first post. Then I tried to use User collections and that works, I can make a folder Getty and sub folders for published RF, published RM, rejected etc. So far so good.
But, I also need to know what images that are NOT submittet to Getty for example, so I tried to make a Smart Album for this. Search criterias here are flexible, but to exclude images that are in other folders are not available, so I can not see a way to list images that I have not sent.
Anyone that has cracked this and can lead me in the right direction ?0
