Backup
I am new to Capture One and just getting my head around the Library system - I intend to use Catalogs not Sessions.
I use a Mac and backup with a Time Machine.
I have also set up a separate external drive - partitioned. One partition I use for the original RAW files when Importing, the other for the Catalog backup when I exit C 1.
I note that the latter only backs up the settings etc. not the original files. I also notice that each time one backs up when exiting a new .cocatalogdb is created.
Two questions:
Does the latest .cocatalogdb contain all of the previous settings, and can the previous be deleted?
If I lost my Time Machine how would I import the settings (.cocatalogdb) and merge it with my original, untouched RAW files to re-create my catalog.
Or have I got the concept completely wrong?

The current cocatalogdb file contains all of your settings for all images. The other ones are backups. I would suggest you just leave them for C1P to manage. Crashes/collapses are not unknown and it's nice to have a backup to hand rather than wading through time machine. 0
