    You can work with both. See this blog post. . (It is based on version 8, but the principles of how sessions and catalogs work are the same.)

    There is no problem with working in a session and then taking the session work and adding it to a catalog.

    You can also take work done in a catalog and export it to a session if you wish.

    However sessions and catalogs do not share their edit information files. In my views there is no reason why they should - and possibly quite a few reasons for keeping them separate.

    However I write that as a sessions user who finds a fixation on catalogues somewhat weird. 😉

    My reason ist, sessions loadtimes are faster than my catalog loadtimes.
