Work with CO in PC and Laptop
Hello:
I'm a beginner with C1, but at the moment of understanding the file management. I've several cuestions:
1.- How can I reveal the photos I have on the desktop computer on the laptop and then take the settings to the PC and save them in it? I explain, in LR I exported some photos of my main file as a catalog, the export saved it in one drive, it revealed in and then it imported from catalog to LR in the PC and the adjustments made to the photos were copied, that is, the xmp . How can I reveal photos on the laptop and save?
2.- Can I open the photos only with sessions without having to create a catalog, reveal them and save the development settings in xmp? (or the equivalent in C1)
3.- Over time you will have a lot of sessions, in which 4 folders are created, what is done with elllas? Do you have to keep them forever? How do I store the settings made to the photos in a location other than the session folder? In fact, I created a session in C1 of the laptop, I revealed the photos and now I have no idea how to take that development to my base folder of the photos.
4.- and the items (display of catalogs, sessions) ... I gave to clear and clear, all were deleted (right now I have a lot of them from the successive tests I've been doing and I do not know what to do with they)
Anyway, I do not know about the management with this software. Please, help and many thanks in advance. I'm tired of reading and reading, I think I'm very mechanized with LR and its catalog that I'm not able to open up to the rest.
Thank you very much and greetings
P.N. Sorry for my bad english

The simplest way to work with a session on both a laptop & a desktop is to have the session on an external hard drive and plug it into what ever computer you want to use it on. Capture One creates a folder named CaptureOne within the folder that your images are in. That CaptureOne folder contains all of the adjustment & preview information of the images. If you have the same set of images on two computers you might try copying that folder from one computer to the other and see if the adjustments load, not certain if this will work.
Alternatively there are 'Import from catalog/session' features that you can also explore. Or you can use the Pack as EIP feature, when the image is packed as EIP your adjustments will be present when opened on another computer.
2.- Can I open the photos only with sessions without having to create a catalog, reveal them and save the development settings in xmp? (or the equivalent in C1)
Sessions are sort of like mini catalogs. Instead of having tens of thousands of photographs from several years in one giant catalog, sessions allow you to have one days work in a nice and tidy place. Any adjustments you make in the session will always be stored along with that session. Many Capture One users, myself included, never touch the catalog feature and only use sessions.
If you want to keep the work you've done then yes, keep them forever. You can also move your selects to the selects folder then put your selects from many different sessions into one session or catalog. There is a number of ways you can move files around depending on your needs. Like I said before any settings you make to the images are stored in a folder named CaptureOne. If you use the Library tool in Capture One to move your images from one location to another those settings will be transferred as well. If you use your operating system to move files and don't copy the CaptureOne folder then the settings will not move with the images.4.- and the items (display of catalogs, sessions) ... I gave to clear and clear, all were deleted (right now I have a lot of them from the successive tests I've been doing and I do not know what to do with they)
I don't follow...0
