    Not a colour expert here, and slightly colour blind, but...

    What's the mac pro display? Is 5500K native or your prerogative?

    WLED IPS displays (like the macbook) are all natively in the ballpark of 6500K, so you wouldn't want to deviate from that for maximum colour range and accuracy. Either leave "native" or "6500K". That's the temperature/colour bias of the LED backlight, which is going to be 'neutralised' by the calibration.

    What you should certainly try to match is the white point / brightness output of the screen.
