"Adjusted Yes/No" filter unsafe ? DO NOT USE IT
[using C1 20]
Hi,
I have a catalog based on a single root folder where
- Catalog Collections | All images says 10876 items
and
- Filters | Adjusted No = 431 | Yes = 19286
Could anyone explain the difference, please ? Not all images of the root folder have been imported in the catalog (the count displayed by All images is correct). When computing the Adjusted values, it seems that C1 is taking all images found in the root folder and its sub folders into account, be they actually imported or not.

Do you use variants? 0 -
In this catalog, no variant has been created yet. This could not explain such a huge difference anyway. 0 -
Would images in the root folder be automatically included in the catalogue if the folder was Synchronised?
Not being a regular catalogue user that particular functionality is not something I am especially familiar with.
Variants can present some odd looking numbers in some situations. Now necessarily wrong but not immediately obvious as to where they come from. But if it's not that in your example then another reason is waiting to be discovered.0 -
More about this issue... [running Windows 10 Pro 1909]
After the Filters | Adjusted Yes/No section has finished counting and appears to be stable, if I exit C1 and relaunch it, C1 starts again counting in that section as soon as I open it. This doesn't make sense because only the half of them has been actually imported. After stabilization, the total number of files reported in Adjusted Yes/No corresponds to the total number of image files in the root folder and its sub folders. So there's obviously something wrong here.0 -
An obviously related problem :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/exkfv6dncriamrn/Bug1.jpg?dl=0 (in a collection)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5sb59z3navkprn2/Bug2.jpg?dl=0 (in a folder)
The Adjusted filter sees more images than actually present in the folder or collection.
In the second case, synchronizing the folder has no effect because there are actually only 15 images in the folder.0 -
Apparently, this problem only happens with the Adjusted filter. 0 -
And it also happens on the Recent Imports collection, which is even more strange :

PS : How on earth do I add an image to a post in this forum ?0 -

In the upper bar there is the Img button. It will insert the command in your post and you can paste your link inside (or you can paste it, select it and them press the Img button). But actually your Dropbox link is not the image one. You should extract it right clicking your image to open it in another tab or dragging it to another one.
Your link is something like:

but as you can see it is too big for this forum.

Thanks. Using the IMG tag was the first thing I did. But this didn't work.ClauS wrote:

Are you telling me that the links I have provided don't lead directly to the image ? When I use this address in any browser, the image is immediately displayed. I'm sharing images this way since years.0 -
OK. Restarting everything from scratch...
1. I created a new empty C1 catalog.
2. I imported my Lightroom catalog (which is clean) and did nothing.
3. The All Images count is 10932. The Adjusted Yes count is 10966. The Adjusted No count is 12.
4. If I select the Adjusted No filter nothing is displayed (should display 12 images).
5. For many collections and folders, the sum of Adjusted Yes + Adjusted No is greater than the collection or folder count (as shown in screen captures above).
6. For User collections | <catalog name> | <catalog name> Images, the count is 4987 ? ? ? This is neither the count of all images in the catalog nor the count of all images added to a collection. What does this count represent ?
7. C1 20 crashes randomly since its installation. After each crash, the Adjusted Yes / No filter restarts counting from zero. And the result is wrong as usual.
Conclusion : the Adjusted filter is definitely broken. And not only that, I think.0 -

If I copy and paste your links in a browser tab, even though they seem to link to a .jpg URL, I see the images inside Dropbox interface. That's probably why this forum is not able to process and show them. If you extract the real URL as I did the browser will accept it as you can see above. I don't have Dropbox. Eventually you should look for an option to embed the image (which should give the image URL) and not to share it.0 -

I can't really help you but, is it possible that your catalog contains elements (like movies, or other file types) that are filtered by Capture One but for some reason they are not filtered in the adjusted/not adjusted count?
I'm still procrastinating a definitive move to a catalog based or catalog involved workflow. I mean that I'm still testing my workflow with catalog so my comprehension of it could be limited. The other day I was doing some tests. I thought I had imported just some raw files but trying to rename a keyword I got an error regarding a video file. I discovered that I had imported videos too but they were filtered by the view menu. I don't know if this could affect counters in any way.0 -
Thanks Claus.
The only files stored under my Images root folder that are numerous enough to explain the huge count difference are of type XMP (created by Lightroom and/or Adobe Camera RAW). There are other file types under the Images root folder, not that much, but they are stored in folders that were not imported and do not belong to the catalog.0 -
There also many image files under my Images root folder but they are stored in folders that were not imported into the C1 catalog. Anyway, this counting problem also occurs, as shown above, for folders that contain only graphic files and nothing else. 0 -
Hi,
More about this bug...
When counting, this filter makes heavy use of the CPU and of the disk drive, especially when it spontaneously counts again. In my catalog, when selecting All Images, the Adjusted Yes count is now twice the number of actual images in the catalog. And the number is always higher each time the filter counts again.
This bug seems to affect other mechanisms. After the last use of this filter (which gave the above mentioned result), I decided to exit C1. This took more than 5 minutes (Saving... message displayed) with high disk and CPU activity.
Conclusion : DO NOT USE THIS FILTER. I think that it might affect (corrupt) your catalog.0
